True that, who’s actually talking? And even, who are we, you might ask me? While it’s tempting to dive headfirst into a philosophical debate and express my passion for writing or storytelling, I think the question isn’t quite there.
It might not be very explicit here, but these first few sentences resemble me quite well, firstly because I like to approach life with philosophy, and above all, I like to approach it with positivity and humor (yes, that’s what wasn’t very explicit!) Well, okay, I promise, I’ll adapt a more structured outline!
Ahem… sorry, I’m digressing…
But anyway, why do you write?
Writing has always been with me, whether scribbling in a journal when I was a young boy, writing poems as a teenager, drafting projects on learning in my adult life, or writing novels and articles in my new life.
My favorite topics? Self-discovery and improvement, personal development, identity, and above all, passion, from music to cinema, from travel and discovery to love or simply for the love of it.
The sentence that describes me well:
“Who is the happier man, he who has braved the storm of life and lived or he who has stayed securely on the shore and merely existed?”
Oh, and I even want to share another one:
“In life, we are not given anything, it’s up to us to take.”
Who Am I and What do I do for a living:
In the past world, I was a job coach, trainer, guitar teacher, and project manager. The little Belgian guy I was had a very organized and tidy life, but also very dull despite living life to the fullest.
What a paradox, I, who had nothing to complain about, constantly felt like I wasn’t in my true place.
In reality, I was a spectator of my life and spent more time watching it pass by. But one day, I decided to change all that, I wanted to have crazy stories to tell, I wanted to discover the world, feel happy and grateful to be alive, I wanted to become the actor of my own life and not just a spectator.
Which brings me to the new version of myself, because in the new world, I’m a freelance writer, life coach, trainer, actor, and musician!
You might say that it’s the same thing as what I was doing before? Well, not quite.
It’s true that my favorite domains are the same, except today, I’m the captain of my own personal business, in line with my values and my own way of functioning, which makes a huge difference!
But okay, let’s focus on writing!
What do I write:
Poems:
When I asked myself “When did I start writing?”, I realized just how important writing has been in my life since my teenage years — maybe even earlier!
Poetry was, in fact, the starting point of my love for writing, and in a rather unique form: when my mind would drift away during school — some teachers’ long monologues didn’t exactly help me stay focused — I often found myself scribbling fragments of thoughts in the margins of my notebooks.
Back then, I didn’t realize it, but poetry was already quietly taking shape in the background.
Later on, I started writing more intentionally, drawing inspiration both from the great classics and from more unconventional pieces that speak to me just as much.
Articles :
I have always enjoyed telling stories, whether it’s anecdotes, a movie I like, an album that amazes me, a joke,… That’s why I felt like writing articles about everything that is part of my life, whether it’s life experiences, past experiences, learning, advice, reviews, philosophy,… I am passionate about life and all it entails!
Novels :
I started writing a book about personal development and the best way to achieve success according to your own definition almost a year ago.
Although this project is on hold because it’s a long-term concept that I want to complete the best, it’s the writing of this book that has opened the doors to other forms of writing, including article writing in the first place!
So, I started writing different novels and short stories that I invite you to browse through via the links below, which will be updated! My favorite styles: Self-discovery, thriller, faux biographies, love and passion
