The slogan says it all. I agree wholeheartedly!

Sadly it does say it all. Thanks for the agreement, though!

Was thinking about something similar to this recently but more populist leaders...wrote a poem too

"Great minds think alike", they said - (More for the reference than the claim of calling myself a “great mind”) - Curious to read it and feel free to share it below otherwise, i'll pass by your page to find it! And I think i see what you mean by populist leaders—kind of charming, selling their own line, taking advantage at the most inopportune moments. But feel free to elaborate about your vision as well!

Fools flower in endless fields,

Misplaced pride substituting for luck.

These insane put up a view;

History they rewrite,

And get themselves a flock.

Walking down, let the threshing yield

Be beaten down; say the people are dust.

And no man wants to wither alone:

Instead of a meal,

Hate gives warmth to the bone.

Sits at the shore by the raging tide;

Feel the pull, but yet he abides.

"Nothing from nothing," a phrase we say,

But the accusations weren't given today.

Streams of curses pour from his lips;

Dreams of horses he never could keep

Left unfulfilled on a cold, sacred day.

Wants overflow, yet give nothing away.

Drink in deep, let nothing be unseen:

See cuts and burns, lesions on the skin,

Splendour betrayed and emptiness displayed. How could we dress fools

As one of the brave?

Very powerful, love it! The last sentence echoes with a song I’ve been replaying for a few weeks: “Won’t Get Fooled Again” by The Who, a song whose lyrics I’d never really paid attention to before. It takes a lighter approach than our respective writings, of course, but with a caricatural aspect that really highlights the theme being addressed. Thanks for sharing, dear Richard

No problem. I'll give the song a listen
